Preparations for the 36th IDS - International Dental Show - in Cologne, Germany on 10-14 March 2015 are in full swing.
More than 1,800 exhibitors from 53 countries have already signed up for the greatest dental show on earth. Moreover, sign up figures are eight percent higher than they were at the same period during the previous event. More and more applications and enquiries are being submitted every day. International demand in particular is higher compared to two years ago. That's why the halls of the Cologne trade fair grounds with a gross exhibition space of over 150,000 square metres are already jam-packed.
From 10-14 March 2015, more than 2,000 companies from around the world will be expected in Cologne, including all international market leaders. The GFDI – Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Dental-Industrie mbH, the commercial enterprise of the Association of German Dental Manufacturers (VDDI) and Koelnmesse have commented in a joint statement: "The excellent interim result already promises that the success story of the International Dental Show will continue. The position of the IDS as the leading international business and communication platform for the entire international dental sector is thus being impressively underlined".
The high level of foreign participation will be demonstrated by numerous companies from the USA, Italy, Switzerland, France, the UK, Korea, The Netherlands, Japan, Israel, Spain and Brazil, among others. First-time exhibitors come from around the world; there is growth particularly in Italy, the USA, Korea, Switzerland, France and the UK.
Dental laboratories a focus
Today, the use of digital dental processes is a largely self-evident part of the daily routine in dental laboratories. As a result, individual process steps can be eliminated and the quality of processes and results can be improved. This is why innovations and trends in digital manufacturing processes will feature prominently at IDS 2015 and are guaranteed to gain much visitor attention.
"This technological evolution is fundamental for the industry and it demonstrates rapid developmental progress for dental prosthetic rehabilitation measures," said Dr Martin Rickert, Chairman of the Verband der Deutschen Dental-Industrie VDDI (Association of German Dental Manufacturers). "For that reason, this digital 'state-of-the-art' for dental laboratories will be one of the key topics at IDS 2015."
On display at IDS will be the latest in scanning, design and production options for dental laboratories using in-house, outsourced and hybrid models that make high-tech cost-effective for any size laboratory. Manufacturers of all systems on display at IDS will support their products with leading experts who can help laboratory owners understand both the technology and the advantages it can deliver in a real world dental laboratory environment.
"Dental technicians can attend IDS, the world's largest trade fair for dentistry and dental technology, in Cologne from 10 to 14 March 2015 and inform themselves comprehensively about the current status of all aspects of the digital dentistry revolution," said Dr Markus Heibach, Executive Director of the Verband der Deutschen Dental-Industrie VDDI (Association of German Dental Manufacturers).
"Exhibitor specialists, experts and experienced users will all be on hand to exchange information and the latest technologies including intraoral scanning, software, milling, sintering, 3D printing and more, all in one place."
IDS takes place in Cologne Germany every two years and is organised by the GFDI Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Dental-Industrie mbH, the commercial enterprise of the Association of German Dental Manufacturers (VDDI) and staged by Koelnmesse GmbH, Cologne. It is literally the greatest dental show on earth!
