Kulzer has launched a new YouTube™ instructional video on using its cara Print CAM software as part of the rollout of its cara Print 3D printing system.
"We're excited to be launching the new cara Print 4.0 at a time when 3D printing is creating so much interest amongst dental laboratories," said Jeff Lauretti, Managing Director of Kulzer Australia Pty Ltd. "However, we're also fully aware of the need to ensure we do it right and that the system performs the way it should.
"As a former dental technician and with many of our customers being technicians and laboratory owners, I know the impact that ineffective technology can have on a business. This is why we haven't rushed the launch of the product and even gone to the extent of running our own tests in Australia to ensure we know the product fully and know exactly what it can do.
"We're working with local technicians in local labs to test what cara Print can do out of the box and then how we can optimise the software to do more faster and using less material. We're testing which materials are best and which printing resolution delivers the best results for each application.
"We want to know the cara Print 4.0 first hand so we can ensure the rollout is smooth and that our customers get the most from the system from day one."
According to Mr Lauretti, the new cara Print 4.0 offers dental technicians a faster, more economical method of producing polymer-based dental appliances in-house. Utilising the latest Digital Light Projection (DLP) technology, not only does it provide a cost-effective alternative to milling for certain indications, it is more competitively priced than other 3D printers on the market while still meeting all the accuracy requirements.
The cara system works with open STL files commonly used by CAD programs, such as 3Shape Dental Designer. cara Print CAM software is included and Technicians are encouraged to use cara Print 4.0 together with Kulzer's own dima Print materials, followed by post-curing in Kulzer's HiLite Power for guaranteed clinical performance.
"cara Print 4.0 is the result of considerable research to create a product that gives technicians the right balance of accuracy with price performance," Mr Lauretti said. "This, together with our service and support infrastructure, will allow us to partner with dental laboratories to increase their profits and productivity from digital manufacturing."
