From the very beginning of its creation, Amann Girrbach’s Ceramill CAD/CAM system has been a pioneer when it comes to achieving maximum precision and saving time as well through seamlessly integrated processes. With the integration of the NextDent 5100 3D printer from 3D Systems into the Ceramill workflow last year, a fully integrated workflow for the additive fabrication of dental products and aids became possible for the first time.
The resulting major success of the cooperation since then is based on the combination of Amann Girrbach’s superior system and process competence on the one hand and on the unrivalled high-speed printing process and comprehensive range of additive dental materials offered by 3D Systems on the other.
3D Systems has now achieved a fundamental advancement in its printing technology, expanding the production capacity of the 3D printer to 30 orthodontic models per print run. A production volume of 120 models can be achieved in 8 hours, while 5 denture bases can be produced additively in less than 1 hour. An oxygen-permeable membrane in the material tray guarantees perfect, distortion-free printing results, gentle removal of the objects simply by hand as well as a long service life of the material tray. The combined expertise of both technology partners provides users with an excellent, yet affordable complete system for indications via 3D printing for all sizes of laboratories.
