User report: New inLab CAD SW 16.0

By Chris Hussey

CAD/CAM New Products

As early adopters of laboratory CAD/CAM technology, we've been pushing the boundaries of what is achievable for many years now. Since Dentsply Sirona's new inLab SW 16.0 software was launched late last year, those boundaries have expanded even further and even more has now become achievable.

It is obvious to me that this software has been extensively worked upon and tested behind the scenes to provide for a well-polished and highly reliable product to meet the demands of modern-day crown, bridge and implant requirements.

inLab SW 16.0 along with the new inLab CAM 16.0 and the MC XL and MC X5 workhorses allow me to fabricate the most detailed of restorations on demand. This package forms the reliable foundation to our workflow. Long-span bridges just drop down onto models with zero intervention, allowing me to concentrate on finalising the aesthetic processes without spending unnecessary time on the functional during the latter stages of manufacture.

inLab SW 16.0 also allows me to connect with our CEREC clients via the Sirona Connect portal or users of open STL systems. The openness of the system is important to us. I do not like saying no to potential clients.

I am particularly excited about the new integration with Altantis. inLab SW 16.0 is now able to connect the inLab user with this leading milling centre for the purposes of fabricating long-span metal frameworks, amongst other products, that are guaranteed to fit. This is an edge I did not anticipate before the Demntsply Sirona merger and I cannot be happier now that it has happened.

All-in-all inLab 16.0 and inLab CAM 16.0 have given me the power to do what I want, quickly, accurately and with no undue fuss.
