3M ESPE has announced the addition of a new Accredited Lava Milling Centre based in Melbourne. iMilling Centre is a laboratory technician and dentist partnership between Joe Nguyen and Dr Paul Aulakh.
The network of Accredited Lava Milling Centres offers crown and bridge products with premium aesthetics, unsurpassed margin accuracy and fit. 3M ESPE sees expansion of the Lava network as vital in building a sustainable business model, supporting the Australian and New Zealand dental industry with quality products, minimal turnaround time and personal service.
The iMilling Centre is located in the heart of dentistry on Collins Street Melbourne. Joe Nguyen, after completing his Dental Technology Course has attended trade shows and educational seminars around the world to find ways of improving his laboratory techniques and product finishing.
"In order to provide our customers with excellent service and quality workmanship, we need to invest in the latest technology and be at the forefront of new materials and techniques," Mr Nguyen said. "Our new state of the art Lava smart 5-axis milling machine enables higher levels of automation and is capable of a wide range of indications including full contour, undercuts and abutments. The machine can deliver 3 or 5 axis milling as required for faster production, accuracy and precision."
Mr Nguyen has been using Lava for over 3 years and explains why he utilises the Lava material to produce superior crown and bridge restorations.
"Not all zirconia materials are the same and may have varying stability levels. Lava zirconia has undergone extensive clinical studies and the partnership of 3M ESPE with iMilling ensures careful and accurate control of the manufacturing process to ensure the quality of the final restoration. Lava zirconia has superior marginal fit, excellent translucency and aesthetics, which makes Lava an ideal biocompatible alternative to PFM."
Dr Paul Aulakh from D-Spa is well known throughout Australia for his expertise, particularly in aesthetic/implant and cosmetic dentistry. D-Spa has three high-end cosmetic clinics, with two on Collins Street and a third in Toorak Road, South Yarra. Dr Aulakh has utilised Lava restorations to meet his treatment aims of providing first class care combined with state of the art technology to provide a long-term solution for his patients' dental health. When asked why he has partnered his practice with iMilling, an Accredited Lava Milling Centre, he said "iMilling's premium quality work, reliable service and work ethics are second to none. Having placed Lava ceramic restorations on a daily basis there has been a zero failure rate and the fitting accuracy is unparalleled. This technology has allowed us to place metal free restorations without compromising strength in most cases and patients also love having this modern alternative".
The installation of the new Lava CNC500 is completed and iMilling is already producing quality Lava restorations.
