VITABLOCS and CoCr for Ceramill

New Products

Amann Girrbach has signed a cooperation agreement with VITA for the supply of glass-ceramic blocks for the new Ceramill Motion 2 milling machine.

The blanks will soon be available as "VITABLOCS Mark II for Ceramill Motion 2" and "VITABLOCS TriLuxe forte for Ceramill Motion 2".

With this agreement, Amann Girrbach becomes one of the few system partners of VITA Zahnfabrik.

The Ceramill Motion 2 combines 5-axis milling and grinding technology in a wet and dry mode for a wide diversity of materials and indications. The cooperation agreement with VITA has optimally integrated VITABLOCS (ceramic blanks), Ceramill Mind CAD software and the Ceramill Match 2 CAM software.

The survival rates of the industrially manufactured, fine-structured feldspar ceramic blocks for the fabrication of inlays, onlays, veneers and crowns using CAD/CAM comply with the gold standard.

Ceramill Sintron: millable CrCo
The non-precious (CrCo) sinter metal Ceramill Sintron is a revolutionary new development from Amann Girrbach. Ceramill Sintron allows fabrication of CAD/CAM-based, non-precious metal restorations on the Ceramill Motion and Ceramill Motion 2 milling systems.

Up until now, it has not been possible to dry mill this type of material on small, in-house laboratory milling machines because of the material hardness. The wax-like texture of the Ceramill Sintron blanks, however, enables the material to be easily dry milled on desktop machines. The frameworks attain their final state during the subsequent sinter process with shielding gas flushing in the Ceramill Argotherm furnace - a processing procedure comparable to that used for zirconia. Sintron CrCo restorations exhibit a very homogeneous material structure without shrinkage cavities.
